Listening & Ongoing Client Dialogue
The interior design process begins with the client and listening to who they are, their personality, their passions, desires, lifestyle, art collection, entertaining needs, and favorite places to travel. Using well-honed listening skills, notes of all of these things that make each client unique are applied and this knowledge is used to make their project especially theirs. Throughout the process consideration of aesthetic appeal is given while bearing in mind the necessity for incorporating the practicality with the functionality of how best for the client to live in their space.
Client’s Personal Style
The initial stages of working together determine the client’s personal style and the direction the project will take, be it large or small. Whether a client’s taste is contemporary, rustic, traditional, minimalist, maximalist, or any other category, clients are always led to tasteful choices that are timeless, welcoming eclectic reflections of themselves that will be distinctive from Urban Energy’s other client projects. The company endeavors to bring choices to the client that are quality lasting design choices rather than trendy ideas that can result in a dated space in a few years.
Sourcing Product & Choosing Materials
The materials brought to the client for their consideration during the design process are visually appealing, often unique but also keep in mind how the client will live while using these materials. For example, natural stone is often encouraged, such as marble, but recognizing that not all client’s lifestyles lend themselves to natural delicate materials. Therefore, creative alternatives that will withstand the client’s lifestyle demands will also be provided as options. This approach is used when considering fixtures for bathrooms and kitchens, hardwood, appliances, wall finishing’s, window coverings, lighting, tile, metals and every detail of a client’s home or commercial space.
Budget
Through the analysis part of the design process, where getting to know the client determines the direction, budget also has to be discussed and plays a practical role in shaping the project. For example, budget will influence types of products to be shown to the client for their consideration. Practical discussions will also occur to help the client understand what they can achieve and perhaps what they can not do in the project based on the realities of cost.
Construction Down To The Finest Details
Once the design portion of the project has been established with the client, the services do not end. Instead this is merely the beginning of working with the client down to the finest details of seeing the plan through to completion. The next steps include setting in motion and orchestrating the team of trades to most efficiently finish the project and oversee all aspects from implementation, through construction and to the satisfaction of the client. The company endeavours to professionally manage the client’s expectations while working along side them and listening to their input. In some cases, the changes or improvements will be recommended by the company and likewise the client may request them. The process, project management and experience of working with Urban Energy Lifestyle & Design is meant to be enjoyable with the burden of all aspects of the project to be handled by the company.
